TAKE THE RED PILL²
hi user
If you're new to the NRx tranny jewish techbro monarchy shill ideology then this post will be my own personal guide to unwrapping neoreaction (with many useful links!). Just be warned, I'm new too, but I've been reading up on it for the better part of a year and I think I know enough to help you.
(This blog post is targeted towards redpilled-by-ai-hitler-last-year 'noticer' types)
Xhis will and has been updated (07/10/26). You learn new things everyday.
✙
Why neoreaction?
National socialist larp is a massive cope and is best taken in small anarcho-fascistic doses, such as in my posts on the green blog. /nsg/ and GTV flyers got me into questioning reality too but they're really not that tasteful, half of it is just provocation and homoerotic vice signaling.
NRx blogging autism was infinitely more substantive than the generic rightist baboonery you see on /pol/ today. Even if you aren't planning on becoming a neoreactionary, I think every right-winger should learn about it.
✙
Who are the neoreactionarijes?
The neoreactionaries (abbreviated NRx) OR Dark Enlightenment refers to a community of intellectual right-wing (they prefer the term reactionary, aldoe) theorycel bloggers that existed from around 2012-2016. They vehemently opposed democracy, progressivism, universalism, populism, the Enlightenment, and some other nonsense I'm sure you also hate passionately.
The core thinkers of the NRx were software developer and blogger Curtis Yarvin (pen name Mencius Moldbug) and English philosopher Nick Land (also known as NIGG Land), who laid the critical groundwork for neoreaction. Neoreaction was an attempt at an intellectual framework for rightists. The dialogue was pretty productive, and some of the concepts developed (Bioleninism especially) are still used in broader right-wing discourse today! But the entire community was swept up by the 2016 current of the alt-right and The Donald because neocameralism was too capitalistpilled for the /pol/acks to have faith in or something to that effect. Most of these bloggers have disappeared to nowhere, deleted their blogs or both. Why are you like this?
It was not a 'movement', like how Groypers or antifa constitute political movements, as they did not try to influence policymakers through activism or whatever, and nor did they push for the masses to adopt their ideas. I mean, it's kind of antithetical to the whole 'democracy sucks' thing. They were theorists, not organizers or mexican pundits. So, please don't mistake Neoreaction for something it isn't.
Curtis Yarvin is an autistic tranny jew (citation not needed) who wrote a blog called Unqualified Reservations (UR) in the 2000s, under the aforementioned pen name Mencius Moldbug (however, it is advised to call him 'Moldberg' as a nod to his jewish tendencies). On UR, he developed the very basis for what would become Neoreactionary thought, explaining his concepts of the Cathedral, guided popular sovereignty, the press-controlled state, among others..
In 2012, the edgelord known as Nick Land wrote an essay on the oevre of Moldberg entitled The Dark Enlightenment, basically an engagement with Moldbug's work, which really propped up the ideas and community of bloggers that became the 'NRx,' who for the next few years would flesh out Neoreaction.

OMG so cool. Where do I start?
Start with Moldbug..
but READING IS FOR RETARDS, so DON'T DO IT! Moldberg and his UR posts are a pain to read, especially if you have very little clue of what you're getting into, and my layman's summary above won't help you with that.
I can personally tolerate Moldberg's essays, in fact I think they're a treat sometimes, but seriously he's a pretentious fag and can't be trusted to convince an open minded progressive of literally anything. It is much better to listen to other reactionaries explain Moldberg's ideas for him, lest you visit UR and immediately be disgusted by Moldberg's weird prose and horrifically named concepts and obscurantist metaphors or whatever the cool kids say.
Youtube is the best answer for everything.

The Distributist has a great hour-long introduction, reckoning inane 'progress,' or entropy, as the essential mode of Leftoid organization and production in soyciety:

Charlemagne has produced the unequivocal anthology of Moldberg's works with relevant commentary. 'Mulling Over Moldbug' is REQUIRED VIEWING! He also has stuff covering Spandrell (a close third for the pioneers of Neoreaction), Carlyle (a 19th century philosopher who hugely influenced Moldberg), Italian Elite Theory (critical to the neoreactionary worldview!), and Nigg Land.

Auron Macintyre has a lot of stuff on Neoreaction, but i never bothered with him because he sounds annoying, whereas Charlemagne has a cute voice.

This guy Parker Banks has really, really good audiobooks of Land and Moldberg's seminal works, so you can read but not really read. I like to put them on when I work on my site and whatever.

When you want to checque out the blogosphere you may do that (BELOW)
To clarify, there are two sects of Neoreaction split between the Land and Moldberg side of things. Moldberg never branded his ideas as 'neoreactionary' or 'dark enlightenment.' Neoreactionary was a name given to them and 'The Dark Enlightenment' was of course articulated by Land. Moldbug described his ideas as 'Formalism', and I don't think he was very involved in the Neoreactionary blogging community beyond being in everyone's blogroll (like, he wouldn't leave comments on Spandrell's blog like Nick Land would). He primarily wrote UR from 2007-2011, and 'The Dark Enlightenment' (the name for a certain milieu of bloggers) was coined in 2012, and would be elaborated on further by others like Spandrell and AnomalyUK.
The lines get a bit blurred here, as many blogs back then had overlapping readership, and again it was a community of theorist-bloggers, not a concrete political movement or organization with political goals sketched on a chalkboard.
(I guess this is what Scharlach might've choked on when he made his map of the Dark Enlightenment, but Hoppe? Eliezer Yudkowsky? it's like he's a progressive trying to slander rationalism and libertarianism)
